Plans are well advanced for the establishment of an integrated, 520MW open-cycle gas-fired power station and high pressure gas pipeline network.
The Braemar 3 power station will be located 40km southwest of Dalby in Queensland, adjacent to the QLD-NSW High Voltage Transmission Interconnector, Power Link 320/274 kV Substation, and ERM's previously developed Braemar 1 and Braemar 2 power stations.
Braemar 3 will have the capability to operate as a peaking, shoulder or base load generator, can supply cleaner electricity to around 50,000 homes and will contribute significantly to reducing the state’s carbon emissions intensity.
Financial close of the project will occur by Q1 2011, with operation expected from early 2013.
This is a 100 per cent owned ERM project and is ready to execute. ERM conceived the project, is the lead developer, project manager, construction manager, financial arranger, and will be the operator and trader of the Braemar 3 power station.
