Gas transmission and linepack

ERM Power's generation business has been underpinned by integrating high-pressure gas linepack pipelines that are used to transport and store gas.

This storage capability means ERM can operate its generators on a peak or intermediate basis using relatively uniform gas deliveries from producers. This allows the company to purchase gas economically and to optimise dispatch to the electricity market.

To date, ERM has developed more than 300kms of high-pressure gas linepack pipelines within Queensland and Western Australia. ERM Gas's vision is to continue to coordinate pipeline developments to efficiently link gas and electricity markets to suppliers and its own developed gas sources.
